If we get a nice filly from this breeding, we have been talking about possibly selling her. She is a nice mare and there is a lot of her and she is sweet to boot. If you think you may be or if you know someone who might be interested if she goes up for sale - let me know and we can talk.

My dad? Try Paint? Been there done that and we couldn't get a paint if we bred them in a crayola factory!

Oh, he bred to some mighty fine horses that were slinging color on everything else they produced. Come to think of it, outside of a colt or two with very minimal white.....the only paint that we had that came from our house that actually did something came from breeding two QHs....go figure....

Okay - here's an update on our girl Blue. The baby looks to have dropped into a more ready postion, she is hollowed out and squishy, her vulva looks like a gorilla's lips on valium and her bag is so big that it swings like a pendelum when she walks. There has been no wax - but Thursday when we got some milk for the pH test strips it was real murky and cloudy, but not very tacky. The hardness was around 250 to 300 and the pH was around 8.2. Yesterday the milk looked more yellow and has definitely gotten stickier, but the pH strips read about the same.

She is definitely looking closer and more ready than Cat is, but there still have not been any signs that just really screamed out to us that there will be a baby any time in the immediate future.

See what I mean about the gorilla lips though?

And look at the veins going to her bag! Holy Moly!

And this is what she was doing while I was taking pics of her private areas:

Blue has had wax building on top of wax all day long. I checked her with the strips and she had a high calcium level and I don't think the pH was high enough to even have a color on the chart. So hopefully we will have a little buddy for Shiloh to pal around with very soon!
