What she is saying is that she likes those breeds, EXCEPT ARABS. Meaning, SHE DOES NOT LIKE ARABS. Yes, she may have said they can't do certain disciplines, but she never said they were worthless or anything. I don't like arabs either, so they aren't my breed of choice. When she said all horses that can event or whatever, then said not arabs, she took it that some of you may have assumed arab on that part, so she said not arabs to clear it up. I don't think it was ever meant to hurt feelings or start fights.

Actually if you keep reading the thread she said "dont tell me tell the rulebook" but their is NO rule against Arabs for dressage or eventing.

People get too defensive about "thier" favorite breeds not being "the type" for certain disiplines. Face it, not all horses excell in certain areas that others DO. That dosent make them less of a horse.

You dont see many arabs in top level eventing/dressage. Having said that, do you see many warmbloods tearing up the barrel racing scene?? LOL, no....I dont think doing 20 meter circle around barrels would bring in a good time! LOL.

Certain breeds excell better at things that others dont...dosent mean they "cant" do it....

Hey um... personally after seeing this exhibit at 'Equitana' I love australian stock horses (quarter horse x thoroughbred x arab) they are beautiful, versatile and quiet, and its all prooven how trainable they are.

On the arab thing... Doesn't like all the light-weight horses somehow originate back to arabs? If you don't like arabs, whether they be pure or not, everything has a little arab in it.
Secondly, as a horse companies trademark, whether they make beach towels or horse calenders, that horse you see prancing around with its head arched and its tail high, is an arab. Imagine that majestic creature in a dressage ring, who would be stupid enough on the planet to dismiss it (im not calling you stupid horsiez i am calling the person who makes this so called 'rulebook' stupid) you ARE allowed to compete on arabs at high level dressage and they are very versatile free animals which is why nearly every horse breed in the world has some arab in it...So why aren't they successful?? I don't understand...

I love all breeds--horses in general, and I think every breed has something very special to them, but since I'm into dressage I'm a big Warmblood fan . I don't believe that you absolutely NEED a warmblood to do it (since I have seen MANY amazing Arabs and TBs, etc.), but...they just are my personal favorites.

Hanoverians and Trakheners (sp.?) are my personal favorites . I also like Dutch Warmbloods.
