![]() | I say I have to agree with Mandi on this one... What ****** me off is when people run around and proclaim that they are so much better then animals. Perhaps, but I don't care what theory you believe, but there is no god-given control that we have. What about mentally handicapped people? Are we smarter than them? Perhaps, but that doesn't mean we should take advantage and use them 'just because we can'. Before you start attacking me, I am not a natural horsemanship owner like Mandi. I am not a vegan or even a vegitarian. I tried not eating and meat and I went crazy and lethargic (Progressive albinism and a whole lot of other wierd medical stuff). I'm not saying I disagree with horse slaughter but I think you're all absolutely right about the needless breeding. until we stop that, we're not stopping anything frown |

![]() | senseless breedings do happen a lot, but its not the horses fault, its peoples. Its not fair that horses are punished for peoples mistakes. |

| Senior Member+ | lol I think I deserve to live. Actually there are lots of people that think I do. You basically saying that, my whole family, and almost all of my community need to die. That's about as bad as racism. I don't think you deserve to die, just be a little more realistic, oh and BTW my horses have the same life as yours'. Same huge pastures and water supply. So do our cattle.

![]() | btw Nocturno, I only became a vegan recently. Its REALLY, REALLY hard and sometimes I look at that cheeseburger and yea, my mouth drools but I just picture my horse between that bun and trust me, that yummy thought turns crisp. Im not saying eatnig meat is wrong, humans were designed to eat meat, but breeding animals to eat them, thats sick. If people were born and bred for a certain task people would be in a hizzy. |

![]() | another thing cow, how do u like the feeling? saying that u need to die is the same as saying that to a horse. I'm soooo glad im Luparian and not any other belief because if I was, wow i'd throw some bible **** on you. |

| Senior Member+ | I'm Presbyterian and do go to church. God made animals for our use. There is nothing in the bible condemning eating meat or killing animals for that purpose. Oh, and BTW I could walk up to my horse and say "You deserve to die" and he would not understand a word I just said. It's completely different saying it to a person. That statement you just made is exactly why I think that PETA, ec...is an extremist cult. Plus that and all the terrorism they support. I don't think you deserve to die, and if you were religous you would not believe that I do either. I think you are behaving a little immature. Oh, and BTW no my horses aren't slaughtered. And cattle are like any other animal, they do not understand life or death and if I asked them if I could eat them I'm pretty sure they would stare blankly at me because they wouldn't understand. [ May 04, 2004, 08:28 PM: Message edited by: cowgurly02 ]

| Senior Member | Why is it that attitudes flare when not in agreement on the subject. No one is "better" than anyone else. What started out as a good debate turned into an argument. If you want someone to not harass you about your beliefs then do not harass others for theirs. I will agree to disagree. |
