I agree. I'd be a nervous wreck about something happening.

Make the horse put 1 foot in the trailer. 1 foot out. 2 feet in, 2 feet out. Make her 100% comfortable. 3 feet in, 3 foot out. Let the horse come out when HE wants to. When they get uncomfortable, they can get out. Eventually they will just stay in there.

Hopefully that made some sense. It's worked with my mare. And she was AWFUL to get in the trailer. Rearing up, totally refusing. She goes in like a charm, and so does my colt.
Yep yep yep yep, can't stress this routine enough.

So many people think that trailer training is just about getting on. They don't set the horse up to feel comfortable standing there on their own, much less tied, butt bar up, door shut.

Trailer trailing is just as much about getting off as it is getting on. The process of teaching the "come off" cue includes the process of teaching the horse to stand quietly, at whatever point of loaded you put the horse - all the way on halfway on, just the front feet on, etc - until you ask him to back off (or go forward).

So, start over. Do what Horse_girl said - it's exactly what I would have said

Been through this with our horses. You have to make the trailer the best place for her. I don't recomend food as a lure because they just jump in and grab a bite then bail out. Put her in the trailer and the moment she starts to get nervious back her out and away from the trailer and MOVE HER FEET! The name of the game is change directions with HUSTLE. Left, Right, Back and repeat. When you ask for her to go it has to get a response of Yes SIR! When she starts to look for a break take her to the trailer and load her up. After a few rounds of this she will get the idea that bailing out of the trailer is really not a good option. The next phase is all timing. When you put up the butt bar she might still get worked up. Just let her. Watch when she stops jumping around or what ever she does open the trailer and unload her with lots of pharise.
