Not sure on the color... but he sure is cute!!! And daddy is gorgeous. I love those dark smutty buckskins. I bred my chestnut mare to a smutty buckskin and got a really light paly.

Here's the pic of my neighbor's filly. She's out of a cremello stud and a REALLY dark chestnut mare. Almost looks black sometimes. She's about a month old and her mane is getting lighter already.

More info from the owner...

Quote:
Thanks! We're defintely going to get him tested soon for the cream gene.
I think he'll have it though, bc his skin is pink and his eyes started
out blue. We'll see!

We had some bad news today though when the vet came to give Odin his
first check-up. Apparently he was born w/ a hernia - some of his
intestines came through the same ring as one of his testicles and he
needs to be operated on right away. We just got back from the vet
hospital - he will be operated on tomorrow morning first thing, hernia
repaired and gelded so that the intestines can't come back through.
Poor little guy. : ( He'll (hopefully) be able to come home on
friday.

So please send some good thoughts in his direction...

Oh dear about the hernia! I just read the e-mail as well. Luckily they caught it early and he should turn out brilliantly.

More Pictures. Man, the more I see, the more I like him. Poor thing has to be inside for 2 months though because of the surgery.

I'm thinking he made it out of surgery healthy since Anne put him up on her website. She said she would only do this if he did make it threw and with normal chances of survivability.

He is the most bizarre colored buckskin I've ever seen. When I first saw him I was like "that's not buckskin!" Until the showed that close-up of his face.

A girl at the barn my boys are spending the summer at, her TB mare is bred to Yeager and due pretty soon. She is bay...I'm hoping for a buckskin baby out of her, I think that would be pretty.
