Eventing isn't a sport to disrespect. You ride CC fences differently than you do stadium fences, and I really, really, really encourage you to find a quallified, competent, experienced Eventing Coach to work with you. This is not a sport - especially at low levels - to take for granted. Those fences demand respect and if you do not give it, don't do it.

I don't want to discourage you, but I take my sport seriously and I am sick and tired of seeing the accidents that occur out there, especially over low level fences. I really really encourage you to find a coach to work with you

Best of luck out there.

where are you in NC, I might have a good trainer for you to look up.

As for places to school nothing beats the Thoroughbred Training Center or Why Not an American Ark... they both have websites.

If you want the trainers name and contact info PM me.

No reason why not, with a good coach

I would do a little gridwork with him, he just needs to pick his legs up more. Dangling legs are more dangerous in XC than in showjumping - if he hits an XC jump hard, there's a chance he could flip because it won't give and fall like poles will.

I think you like to have fun with Scout and he seems to enjoy everything you throw at him.

So my best advice would be, you never know until you try. But try under guidance cuz I would sure hate to see either of you injured.

WNAA site: http://www.whynotanamericanark.com/
Look on the left hand side and go to schooling. Just remember that you need supervision from a trainer or insturctor that has proper liabilities. The details are on the site.

I think you and Scout would have so much fun doing XC. He likes to jump out in the pasture, hehe.
