That is ridiculous. Maybe they should go out and see what real neglected horses look like.

I don't know the details of this case, but how do they think canadian horses survive--as far as being out in the cold for more than a few days? Glad they were concerned but there has to be more to it than that or something because the horses look pretty good as far as I can see in those pics.

They were mad that the horses had mud and poop on their legs?!? Well duh, horses tend to poop and then step in it... and dirty stalls happen when horses poop in them.

And horses not out in the cold? Well I am in hot water then, because I seem to have left mine out all winter...

Had mud on their hooves that smelled like manure? Go figure *gasp*

I wish instead of smelling it they would have tasted it to confirm it was manure......

The gray in the pic looks pretty darn healthy and happy to me!!

yeah I'd hate for them to see my colt...he looks like he's part yetti and since he liked to LAY by the hay feeder where they...*gasp* poop then freezes to his coat. he's put in at night to keep him from getting into things but he's a dirty shaggy winter horse im sure there are alot of those this time a year. and he doesnt live here in the somewhat brisk chicago area. he lives in the lake effect snow belt up in Upper Michigan. he doesnt have any water outside (as we dont have a way to put anything outside for them without it freezing) or a heated barn but the barn stays pretty warm its self and has access to all the unfrozen water he could want at night. however he has a big round bale to chew on all day. but I know alot of horses that are in simular situations and I just cant imagine these horses are abused though.

ROTFL like horses are supposed to smell like roses after laying, rolling and purposely sleeping in their poop!

That is BS, theres horses around here, that have had the humane society called numorus times. Horses standing in 2 ft of GOAT cr*p in a stall. Horses that are skin and bones. There was a draft, she was underweight, the HS had been called, and the horse was found dead in the field weeks later. So its not like that didnt have time to react. GAH!!

Why are animal rights activist not haunting the auctions. I did not see any mud on those horses and they actually looked pretty good. I thought horses in the east and midwest were use to the cold temps.
