Barbaro Fund Receives $114K From Breyer

Breyer Animal Creations presented a donation of $114,710 to Penn Vet's Barbaro Fund on Wednesday, December 13. The donation was based on a $10 contribution on the sale of more than 11,000 Barbaro model horses created by Breyer. Dr. Joan Hendricks, the Gilbert S. Kahn Dean of Veterinary Medicine, accepted the check on behalf of the School. Pictured are: George D. Widener Hospital Director, Dr. Corinne Sweeney; Barbaro's owners, Roy and Gretchen Jackson; Breyer's President Anthony Fleischmann; Dr. Hendricks; Chair of Clinical Studies at New Bolton, Dr. Gary Althouse; and Widener Hospital Chief of Surgery, Dr. Dean W. Richardson.

Just a quick question, at the risk of sounding ignorant (I admit I haven't been keeping up-to-date with Barbaro's progress, poor boy

), but what exactly is the Barbaro Fund supporting?

You can read all about it here, and that is an excellent question,
His legacy is going to be what can be done now for leg injuries,
and all they learned through his brave battle.
