Question would you sell your....

My mom and dad were talking about things..-you know parents- and they asked me if i would ever sell Roxxi.. I looked at them and just laughed!!! they looked at me all confused. I said 'Really'.. "i would never sell Roxxi for all the money in the world" she is going to die of old age with ME! well Roxxi has been with me for 5 years as of october, and she has taught me so much a person could;nt. and she is 16 years old.
When I got her she was about 200lbs under weight. I can do so much with her, Like the 1st summer I had her (got her in Oct.) we raced all the horses in the area. Roxxi this "mutt" of a horse BEAT all the horses butt at racing...all but one arab/welsh. (she's fast) AND SHE DRIVES LIKE A DREAM

So getting back to my point. would you sell your horse for all the money in the world if she taught you so much?

I would NEVER sell Sugar. I've loved her since I was like 8 (I'm 18 now). I've kept her even though she's WAY too small for me (13.1 hands..i'm 5'10" lol).

Nope! My Dancer saved my life, literally, so she has a long time ahead of her to annoy me! She is 8yo so we have a long way to go!

Persuit would be never be sold. Even when going through a tough time last year with no job my boyfriend made sure Persuit wouldnt go anywhere. I also wouldnt sell him because he has a issue i dont honestly believe anyone would want him Persuit has made such a impression on my family also they couldnt imagine him not being here.I adore him and i dont mind his dirty nose.

IF i had to let him go i would give him away to someone who did not mind his issue...

Chicky will never go anywhere. I've owned her for 9yrs in April. She was my first horse and she will never ever leave. End of story. I would live in a cardboard box before I ever let that mare go, and when she passes I don't want to go on living. Chicky is the reason I wake up in the morning and the reason I keep breathing every day. Shes my best friend, my sister, my daughter, my mother, my rock to lean on, my shoulder to cry on, my soft place to fall, she pushes me to my limits, and holds me back from doing anything stupid. She is my everything and there is no price that can take her from me. Only death can do that, and when she goes I wanna go to. Do I have an unhealthy addiction to my horse? Yes I do. Am I dead serious about everything I've said? Yes I am. Only death can take her and keep her from me.

Lady won't go anywhere, she will always be with me. She's 19 and still sassy and loves to run and play when I turn her out. She ALWAYS nickers at me when she sees me. Even if I just walk around the corner for 2 seconds, and it always warms my heart.

Ghost on the other hand I COULD part with, we just don't click as well as Lady and I do, and I'm just starting to realize it.

This is something I have thought about A LOT lately. My last mare, Beverly, I had for 12 years (since she was just barely 1). I was a kid when i got her and did all her training myself. I rode her every day for years and I would not have sold her for anything. She died last year.

I have had Lenore exactly 1 year. She is a bit of a handful and the exact opposite personalty of Beverly. I have again been doing all her training myself. I am married and have a 3 year old now so it has been a totally different expierence with Lenore than it was with Beverly. I have not had the hours and hours of bonding time I had with Beverly. My husband and I want to move to Florida in the next couple of years. Beverly would have moved with us, no question. But I wonder, if we had to up and move tomorrow, would Lenore make the move? I guess only time will tell.

Don't get me wrong, I love Lenore and do plan to keep her forever, but if it was a choice of sell Lenore or put my family into financial ruin...well it makes you think.
