Would this be a halter class?

I am looking at different fairs, to see if they have any in-hand classes, and there is one fair, that I go to every year, that I know has horse events. I looked at thier different events, and found this:

Quote:
Fitting & Showmanship- All equines shown without a saddle. English horses shown in a bridle, western horses shown in a halter. Judged 50% showmanship and 50% grooming, conditioning, and appointments of equine and exhibitor. All exhibitors must wear hats/helmets, boots, and gloves appropriate for their style of riding.
Do you think that is an in-hand class?

This is like a Showmanship class and Halter class in one! I'd say go for it!

Okay, thanks..I'm definatly going to check into it..it costs like $8 to enter! The only thing that confuses me, is at the bottom of the webpage there is both "in hand" and "fitting and showmenship"..the problem is, it only describes the one i posted above..nothing about just an "inhand" class.

I will look into it, and either way, I am interested in the one I already posted!

showmanship is were you do a pattern with the horse in halter, and the in-hand class would be just showing the horse in halter.

Okay! Thanks. What are the patterns like? I've never done anything like this, so what would be expected? Maybe I'll enter them both just for the experience, and because I've got the showing bug! LOL

for a showmanship pattern they will have walk, trot, set up and the judge will walk around you horse, might have you back, and to a turn.

Oh, nothing too hard then. And it's a fair, so its not a real tense show. Not the world champions or anything
