Hm, if you absolutely have to pick between the two then I'd say go for the greenie. I have a friend at our barn who has a rearing and probably green broke horse. We are talking a full out hi-ho silver rear. Sure she can sit it, but it is a very dangerous and very bad habit. Aside from that, it is not at all pleasant and is quite annoying! The very same horse is on the market because of this among other bad habits. Since you have a trainer to work with and the confidence to work with a greenie I'd think that is the best of the two.

i would go with the green-broke horse also because while training him you also get the chance to get to know him more and he'll get attached to learning from you

I would hold out for the right horse... neither are your ideal and this is a big, emotional, long-term relationship that you are diving into. The right horse will absolutely come along and you won't have to make as many sacrifices to your dream.
