Hey...I think I would beat all of you for WORST equitation. And It would be a photo from like yesterday!I dont have any photos of me riding equitation just yet. I Need to have another ROM to complete my versitility so I decided I'd take my LITTLE western horse in equitation to see If I can get some points. I rode hunt as a kid and dont remember it being terribly difficult....WELL.....It has been a BIGGER challenge than I might have bargained for! I rode Hunt for about 40 minutes monday and then went for a trail ride in the hunt saddle for about an hour. My FEET were numb when I dismounted and I seriously COULD HARDLY WALK on tuesday. I just can not for the life of me seem to get my balance right. I take a few good strides at the posting trot and then somehow I seem to be to far forward and feel like I'm going to go right over his neck. GEEZ. I ride bareback all the time and have no issues w/balance whatsoever. I would like to try equitation at my next show which is June 8.....so all you hunt seat equitation pros out there HELP PLEASE!!!!!  Any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated I will try to add a photo soon. |

Yup...that was me.. I am way, way, better now. I don't even know WHAT I was doing.  And I was doing something VERY wrong......MY HELMET wasn't on my head!!

HAHA...I have some... On the flat: I'm normally a western rider...and this saddle was not right for me...it threw me forward, and my leg back no matter what I tried...   Over fences: My first jumping lesson EVER (for myself and my horse)...I had a blast but then realized how bad my position was! Can we say "shoulders back" anyone???

I CAN ENTER THIS!!! My first riding competition I can actually enter. This is my first, and only real time, riding a horse. Sometime early this year: Just so you know...I wasn't anywhere near this bad most of the time. Hahaha. Here is one for comparision. http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z...as_visit40.jpg And no I wasn't wearing a helmet...and I definately should have and would have if there had been one available. But after waiting 8 years to ride, I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity. Western...(at least my heels were down? LOL).
