Worming Schedule??

Can someone give me a worming schedule? This has always been handled by the BO, but we're moving barns and I'll need to do it myself from this point forward. Thanks!

He's been wormed every other month since I bought him. That seems to be the schedule the barns in my area like. I know that you rotate the kind of wormer used, just don't know which ones to rotate between. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Most of the time, every 6-8 weeks.

I seem to have great success every 30 days with keeping my worm load to "zero" egg showing.

As for rotation...there are a ton of different "views" on how, when, and why to rotate.

Here is a quick link

for many years, some vets assumed double dosing would get the tapes.

It isn't as effective as they thought.

One thing to look for is the yellow bot eggs on you horses legs. We have a very heavy bot population in my area. If you are seeing bot eggs you need to worm with a product that contains ivermectin. The ivermectin provides the horse with 45 days of protection from bots.

My schedule goes like this:
Jan--Anthelcide
March--Safeguard
May--generic ivermectin
July--equimax (for tapes)
Sept--generic Ivermectin
November--if there has been a hard frost Safegard, if not generic Ivermectin

I have broodmares, so the worming for tapes is a little complicated, as more of the ivermectin combos get approved for pregnant mares, I would like to add a second worming for tapeworms.
