Working for Animal Protection

Hey peeps. Any advice on how to get into working for animal protection as a career? I have a degree in media, my experience is in retail but I REALLY want to work for RSPCA/similar. ANY help would be appreciated. I curently volunteer at a dog shelter.

I could in no way work for animal control..I would take every animal in and shoot all the abusers........I don;t think I could keep my mouth shut!!!!

I know...but although in some ways it would be awful, helping to save the ones you could would make it all worthwhile. From working at the dog shelter, it makes you feel better just seeing their faces when you give them the attention they've never had before. Although it does make me want to take them all home with me!

No I haven't heard of it....I live in England but glad to hear there are places like that there too. The place I volunteer is called Stray Aid and they never put a healthy animal down, they've saved thousands of dogs in the 3 years they've been open. The centre is also trying to get the law changed as legally after 7 days if the owner doesn't collect an animal it can be euathanased (sp?) and apparently some places still do this.
