Winter Riding - quick question???

If you're riding in the winter and your horse is sweaty, isn't it a good idea to put cover him up with a cooler sheet?

If the weather is cold, yes. I have a heavy winter blanket for mine. I cool him out so he's not hot anymore but there's no point in trying to wait for him to dry because it's too cold and just gets frosty anyways.

I always do after I finish riding -- helps keep their muscles from cooling too quickly which can cause cramping, also wicks away the moisture so they dry faster.

So something like this would work?

A winter blanket would be too much right?

I'm guessing you probably have very cold winters, so that cooler would work good I use a fleece cooler in spring/fall.

How often do you ride, and how sweaty does he get?

If it's often, and quite, then he needs to be clipped, and then blanketed accordingly.
