To get more protien in her diet, I would nix the beet pulp and increase the alfalfa pellets. You can soak them if you want. Add purina's FreeBalance to Select II (2) as an extra vitamin/mineral supplement.

And work her more! Once she's recovered from her injury, get her working in a long and low frame (alternate from natural head set for her to low/stretching head set), really driving from behind with her back legs. Working her in the lowered frame up hills at the walk and trot will also really help build topline muscle. Working like this will build muscle and bring up her belly. My mare has the same issue (though she gets FAT easy!) and she shapes right up when I get her back into work.

I think I would add a vitamin/mineral suppliment into her diet. THeres many out there, and mosy of them it's a couple extra little pellets so It wont add much more to her amount of grain but It can help her out.

I 2nd the possibility of a pregnancy. With the dropped belly, rounded appearance, and extreme wasting along the top line, it's a good possibility.

You mentioned a complete feed. What is it exactly and how much does she get? Is it a 'complete feed'? Or is it only a fortified feed?

I just looked up the HorseGuard. It contains a little bit of a lot of stuff. But the only things it provides in anywhere near a significant amount are vitamins. Amino acids and minerals are just a spit in the bucket. Not even enough to make mention of in the overall content of the diet.

Well I doubt she would be pregnant, when I got her they said there is a possibility or her being pregnant. I got her last year though, bought her in... January I think it was, but actually got her up here in April. She has been gaining a lot of weight in her belly, and it did cross my mind but I don't have a stallion here, she hasn't been off of the property, no stallion has come onto my property. Besides the mini stallion which is my moms, but they're on the other side of the property and don't go in a pasture that's even near each other. Never been together, nothing. She's scared of mini horses anyways, she would probably have a heart attack. =P

I can't work her more, my roundpen is flooded, I didn't get a chance to get more/better footing in there this year. No money after spending it on drainage systems and her vet bills. =P So currently I have no where to work her. She goes out in a pasture now, but it's not level, so there isn't much i can do. I do some trotting up and down the drive way on days that it's too wet to go out, but there really is nothing I can do with her right now.

Dawn, i will get the bag and find all the ingredients and all that stuff..give me a second, I had it in the living room a second ago....!

Okay okay, I guess you posted at the same time as me!
What vitamins would you recommend? There aren't very many to choose from here at Wilco...

Basically all I was saying is that your supplement is a waste of money.

I'll be interested to here more about the hard feed she's on before I say anything else about her diet.

Also curious about which year you got her as well.

Look at the vein popped out in her belly. I'm sorry, but I'm hands down for knocked up. Every classic symptom of a pregnant mare in 3rd trimester, and owner didn't know about it.
