All of mine came with their names but I made Reebok's show name, which is - Llanassa Wings Star Reebok.

I got it from his mummy and daddy Llanassa (Mum) Wings (Dad) Star (because he is their star) Reebok (paddock name)

Gertie is named after my great-grandmother Gertrude.

My Omi (Ggma) was my hero and the inspiration for my life.. She passed away last August.

She came with the name Surprise..which I still call her now and again. I did keep it as part of her registered name though

Mulligan, because when we got him he was in ruff shape and was considered for light flat work only. When we sold him he was jumping 3-6 courses fine, the vet couldn't understand why someone would waste him. He was 15 when we got him and once he was fit enough, we got a girl who showed dressage and it turns out he was a schoolmaster in dressage. So anyways, Mulligan in golf is a redo, because he got a redo at life.

Rague (that is her full ApHC registered name) came out of a broodmare band so I assume that was what they called her all of her life but now she is more often called Momma, Momma Gu, or Gu.

Mister Doe Boy (registered name) is usually called Dobie (after Dobie Gillis - TV Show of a VERY long time ago), Dirt Bucket (he's a few spot so basically white) or just Doe.

Jelly Bean is a leopard (a lot of his spots look like 'jelly beans' in shape though black)that came to us being called Scuba Steve which didn't fit him and his little girl (7 y/o G-daughter) so she decided that he is Jelly Bean after her first "My Little Pony' [a 'knock off' one though] that had 'jelly bean' looking spots in all sorts of colors..

I didn't even get to name my boy. But I probably would not have named him Racket Club.
I get weird looks when I show and the usual, "Raquet Club?" Like the actual tennis raquet.
A noisy club? I'm not sure it fits him.

My filly Belle's Starlite was named that because her mom's name is Liberty Belle and I wanted to include a part of her name. Then I have always loved the name Starlite and she was born in the middle of the night with the stars bright out in our pasture, so Belle's Starlite she was. Then my Arab mare Flyin' Eclipse was named that because she loved to run and her grandpa's name is CR Eclipse Night.

Angel was actually the third name to enter my mind the day I chose a name for her. I suppose it was because I didn't like her name being Penny. It just didn't sound right for her.

Phoenix Rising got his name because he's a bright red chestnut, and the first time I ever saw him run, when I was going to look at him, his was shinning in the sun and his long mane looked like flames coming up from his neck. He was also a bit of a diamond in the rough horse, no one saw how phenominal he was, hence the "rising" part of his name.

Lucky was an abused pony, so we wanted to call him Lucky and well the other man in my life said if I buy all these horses he wants to name him, and he's a huge Texas Holdem fan, so his name because Royal Flush, and then Royal Flush is Lucky.
