Awwe It went back together well and will be fine! Why they do it...? Who knows read my thread in health. I really gotta post pictures of Dixie's eye. However you can't really see the stitches she just looks like she has a lazy eye it's weird...

What happened to cause that?

Just as an idea, you may want to put a warning sign for graphic pictures

I swear horses can get hurt in a field of pillows! I'm so sorry you and your horse have to go through this pain

after spending time with him and bathing him, I let him run around in the jump ring to get his ichies out, he tried to jump the back gate, nothing seemed wrong, lo and behold I go to put him away and his leg is covered in blood. Of course our regular vet was out of town too
he did not show any lamness after the gate, and just started grazzing like it was nothing

Oohh, poor horse. But it doesn't look too terrible. I've come to the conclusion that horses are walking vet bills: it's in their nature to hurt themselves and force their owners to shell out money constantly to keep them in good health. See? They can't even help it.

Oh man... I know what you mean... I mean Stormy managed to get horribly sick and had to be taken to Purdue on my Birthday of all days!

http://www.horsegroomingsupplies.com...tal-99846.html

Now that is what I call poor timing... he gets sick when my vet is on vacation and on my birthday... ugh horses sometimes

Last time he got hurt a couple years back the only other time he has had helath problems... he cut his hock up and of course on the 4th of July and of course our vet was on vacation and it was a holiday so we had to call some emergency vet person... cost us a ton extra money wise lol

That is the key...your vet was out of town.

Mine is cut up from something...who knows. I gave up padding his area. he seems to get hurt MORE when I make an effort to keep him safe.

that is exactly when is older brother was born too...
He looks good today, laying down the normal amount for him which is alot lol lazy bumb
the swelling seems to be only on the site
his temp is with in normal for him 100.4
He really does not look lame, when he escaped from the stall and almost add some more vet bills
and the stitches and staples are all still in tacked

I hate when Hark gets hurt. For some reason it always seems to happen before we have a competition or some major training or riding to do. June 21st she cut her back leg not to bad. About a cm or two. She was perfectly fine and wasnt in any pain and I could still run her. Then I go out on the 22nd and she cut open her front left knee and above her eye. 24th we had a major competition at one of the places I really wanted to go

I think horses are accident prone just before something major has to happen.
