You can love when you're young. But that's different from being IN love. "First loves" always seems like love at the time, but if a few years, you'll meet someone who makes you realize that what you had felt before was not the same as being IN love, though you may have loved the boy. With nothing to compare it to, you may think love, when really it was just a strong connection, bond, or infatuation. No one doubts that you cared deeply for the boy in question, however, as to your being IN love with him, that's something you'll figure out for yourself in a few years. I know it must get annoying hearing someone tell you its not love over and over again, but these people speak from experience.

Age is not the issue, its a matter of not understanding feelings/emotions completely when you first feel them.

I don't believe there's an "age" set on love, I certainly think maturity plays a HUGE role.

I understand how it feels to have people tell you you aren't in love. I've had a lot of people tell me the same thing... but now people see that I do love my bf and that we are serious about each other. We love and have the highest respect for each other. Our relationship isn't just for fun. We are in it for the long haul until death do us part. I'm 18 and he is 19. I first started liking him when I was 15 and he was 16. Back then is was infatuation and physical attraction. But as time went on we became great friends and we have built our relationship on a strong foundation of friendship. The feelings weren't mutual as far as I know for the first 1 1/2 but he didn't know about my feelings for him until we both found out our feelings for each other. So all that is to say I do know what it feels like to have people say you are too young and you don't know what love is. But love has no age... it depends on the maturity of the man and woman involved. Also love doesn't happen over time... love takes hard work, commitment, dedication, patience, and lots of time. Wow! Sorry to ramble on. I hope that helped.

You can be in love when you're young. I think a big part of it is maturity. You have to be mature enough to recognize what love is and what a big crush and lust are. Only you know your feelings. I know it's frustrating, but you know you best.
