Angry Why are "fellow" boarders so RUDE?! *vent!*

People never cease to amaze me!
I was driving up today to the barn I board at, and saw a truck in the first arena. Well, there is this girl that boards at my barn. When I drove up, I saw her tacking up. Shy needed to get turned out, because she was flipping out in her stall. I went up to (let’s call her Sara) Sara and talked to her about using the arena. I told her I only needed to let Shy run around for 5 or 10 minutes, and if it would be ok if I used the arena for a little bit. Sara always lunges her horse for about 20 minutes before she rides, and I told her that if she lunged in the round pen instead of the arena, that Shy would be done getting turned out and she could ride. I also told her that if she wanted to lunge her horse in an arena, that she could lunge him in the front arena. I couldn’t use it because the truck that pours water on it was parked in there and Shy is so accident prone, that she would probably get caught up in it. She sighed and said “whatever”.

I assumed that meant ok….never assume. I turned Shy out and a few minutes later, Sara comes into the arena WITH HER HORSE! She looked at me and said, “Riders get first privileges of the arena, you need to get out,”. I was so ticked off! So, she just starts to lunge her horse before I got Shy. Shy started to follow her horse in his lunging circle (there's Shy for you ). Then she stopped, and the horse continues on his circle and ran into her!!

At this point, I grab Shy and get out of the arena. I finish cleaning her stall, water her, put her new grain in her grain bucket, and put her bridle on. I wanted to ride, but there was NOOOO way I was going to ride with her in the same arena. Her horse is known to bolt, and Shy will flip if another horse bolts. So I walk out with Shy to ride bareback, and her horse is in the arena without any saddle or bridle! I asked her what she was doing and she said that she needed to turn her horse out because she had to strip his stall and couldn’t do that with him in the stall. Right…but anyway, I go up to her and say, “Riders have first privileges. I want to ride my horse and you can put your horse in one of the two round pens.” Ya, rude, but I needed to ride. Little did I know that she also had her OTHER horse in the arena. I got on Shy and walked her around. I know, I know, it was stupid. But I was so upset that she would do that to me that she better let me ride when I want to when I let her!! I started to ride Shy and Sara’s horses spooked. They took off bucking, kicking, and running up to Shy. Shy spooked and started running off (while I'm bareback!) until I stopped her and got off.

She was on her phone with her mom at the time, probably telling her what I did. I decided that I had had enough of this, and wanted out of the arena. Of course, she’s blocking the way. I opened the gate and she wouldn’t move. She started flipping out, screaming “My horse is going to get out! He’s getting out!!” And I mean screaming. And her horses where at the complete other end of the arena! Shy started half rearing because she was pretty close to terrified at the screaming. I finally got her through the gate and put her away.

Thanks for listening to my vent. Congrats to whoever read through it all! Anyways, I’m sooo upset right now, I just can’t stand people!! Does anybody else have somebody like this at their barn?

Wow, what a horrible boarder. Does the barn owner know about her attitude? She is belittling the atmosphere of the boarding facility and may be causing the BO to lose boarders. I would be having a little chit chat with the BO to see if they can manage the problem as you've already tried talking with the person.

Sorry you have to deal with her, she doesn't sound like fun at all!
Good luck!

Lol, that's what I thought too. I mean, I was riding to ride, not to spite her, but I felt like she needed to know how it feels!

I don't know. I know that a few other girls that board there don't like her, but some do. She also has an ex there, which does make the atmosphere...ackward to say the least.

Thats why I don't board. Although having an arena to use would be very nice.

Ugh...I'm sorry. I thought i had it bad. This girl at the barn hates me for like NO reason. I think she is jealous because i hang out with her ex best friend. You have it way worse though, we try to remain civil in public.

I would have freaked out on that girl, i don't have the patience for that ****! Just tell her how it is, or complain to the owner!

The worst part is that there were other people there . It was so weird having them drive up and ask me if everything is alright, because they heard screaming.
