Question Why am I so worried???

I'm finally getting the horse I've always wanted and I'm not near as excited as I always thought I'd be!

I'm so worried it won't be something that makes me happy (I know that sounds sooo selfish) or too much for me to handle, even though I know what all the hard work will be and have no problem with it. I am paying for him, and all his upkeep, but it's not too tight for that to be my concern either.

Why am I suddenly so paranoid, won't this be fun and everything I've wanted? Am I just f.reaking out because this is actually happening??!?!?!

maybe because you are nervous about getting him/her. you have always wanted him/her and really just want them to feel good and be safe so you are anticipating. this is kinda related i have ALWAYS wanted a job at lammles and now i have an interview and im like eh. im not that excited. i am actually more dreading it more than anything.

keep us updated and i am here to talk to if u need it

Once he gets home, I am sure you will be excited..

You're just like me.. I worry about everything. It will be hard work, but it will also be very rewarding.

YES, it is actually happening! So stop worrying, and focus on all the good things to come!

Yes. It sounds like it.

Last year I "found" the horse I wanted to buy in May, and I had to wait until August 22 to actually go and get her. In the meantime I had to prepare our facilities and get all the horse stuff I needed and make arrangements for the 800 mile trip and find a trailer to borrow and all kinds of stuff. In May I was excited and I couldn't wait. By August 15 I was a ball of nerves, just hoping everything was all right and my arrangements were all in place and hoping the trip would go well both ways and OMG WHAT IF SHE ISN'T RIGHT FOR ME AFTER ALL??

It's like how, you know how people sometimes fr.eak out right before they get married? And then their friend pats them on the back and tells them they're just f.reaking out and everything is going to be find and then they get married and everything actually is fine? It's like that.

You've done all your homework and searched for this horse for a long time. You'll be fine. You're ready. You just want all this waiting to be over, and you want to know that everything's going to be ok! That's why you're nervous!

Maybe I shouldn't say this, but people always said this to me last summer: "Well if things don't work out, you can just sell her again anyway and find a different one!" (In that way, it's different from getting married...you can't do that as easily with a spouse, haha!)

Like the others have said, You'll be fine! I know how you feel, exactly, I was sooo excited at first, then suddenly I was like: umm... Am I really ready for this?

But like the others have said, you've done your homework, you've saved up, you've wanted this for as long as you can remember! You'll be fine! And start being excited really soon!

I know what you mean - I am getting horses again this year after 6 years off and I am constantly doubting myself and my decision to get back into horses - but in my heart of hearts I know that it is what I want to do.
