I guess it's fare to say I'll be looking for a trainer still for Buddy and leave Pudgy alone. I checked on him he's limping less and putting more weight on it.

This isn't directed really at you... but this is only a message, that needs to be convey. If a person needs to wear & use spurs on their horse because the horse is lazy... thats not the correct prefer tool to use. Spurs should only be used by an experienced rider. A person that knows the real pupose, & how to correctly use them. They shouldn't be use by novices, or a person with limited riding skills. I see many of folks wearing them and they don't have a good riding seat & their legs are all over the place, banging the horse's sides and they wonder why the horse always react that way. Spurs, an art of refinement, making leg cue lighter or unseen. The biggest reason, why I see so many horses with spur markings, dead sides, bad attitudes, jumpy & has become dangerous horses. And, I also agree you shouldn't use them. |

| Senior Member+ | Great news on Pudgy
Pudgy has a good prognosis, his limp is gone and he's moving around the pasture pretty freely now. The farrier checked him out when she came to check on Piglet and trim her up. She found no damage to the foot or lower leg and said to give him a few weeks off and then work him lightly, watching afterwards for soreness.
