My all-time favorite appy stud is All Hands On Zip. I have no idea if he is what you're looking for, but I've had the opportunity to handle him and he is a DREAM to work with, as are his babies. He throws amazing, versatile performance horses and in general, I'm in love with him. Of course I'm a little biased, but coming from an Arab person, I think you should check him out.

He looks like a very pretty stud... but it doesn't look like he passes on his color very often. The majority of his foals either didn't have any color at all or not very much.

With the original posters mare's color - she stands a better chance of getting a colored foal by going with a stallion with more color like a few spot or leopard. I could easily see her getting a solid foal out of this cross and face it with a colored breed, color does matter.

But they are also breeding him to ALOT of QH and TB mares. you can't expect a 50% color producer to produce tons of color on non colored mares either. I't not 100% his fault that he's not producing color. It's as much the mares he's being bred to.

Yes, I know that makes a difference... same with a Paint being bred to only solid mares.

I was just saying that with the patters of both the mare and that stud there would be less chance of getting color. If she doesn't care about the color she gets then that isn't a problem...

but if she does then she might as well go with a stud that throws color, no matter what he's bred to... like a few spot or leopard or one more loudly marked then that stud and her mare.
