I have breed to Sir Wrangler in the past and knew several other Sir Wrangler foals. I never heard anything or saw any parrot mouthed Wranglers. IMO The Bards have a son of Sir Wrangler that they are standing. Just go to his web site www.SirWrangler.com its all there and all the peforming foals to.

I don't think they were implying that sir wrangler lines were known to carry parrot mouth, it was only in the same thread as Sir Wrangler being dead. It was just all run together, but if you look again it isn't specifically directed at sir Wrangler.

Sir Wrangler is deceased and I heard there is a rumor of parrot mouth in one of the stallion's bloodlines mentioned by Appylvr.

I totally agree, He may be all good and well for a QH breeding. but for an Appaloosa, Breeding in the cream gene is like breeding in grey. It hides so many beautiful patterns found in appaloosas. Plus the fact that he's a Qh also limits your chances of getting a good pattern to begin with.

I know people say you shouldn't breed for just color, but in a "color" breed you should have some standards. Plain and simple a Colored Appaloosa Standing next to the same quality non-colored apploosa will generally bring more money. There are alot of quality appaloosas being discussed on the thread and personally I think breeding appaloosa to appaloosa is a better way to go. The way the registry rules stand right now, if you get a solid foal from a QH or Arab or TB-appaloosa cross then the only way to show it is by purchasing a performance permit AND A cross bred performance permit will cost MORE money then an Appaloosa-Appaloosa Solid performance permit would.

As much as these other breeders are asking for their studs, you might as well look at studs who have produced/won at higher levels.
I totally agree with you horse mom I have been to their facility. It is quite impressive. Doug and Sue are top notch breeders. I do beleive that they have a stallion for every walk of life.

There are over 9.3 MILLION horses in the USA. We really don't need a lot more being bred. Give a foal that someone else bred a good home instead .
