Question Who on HGS tried out for Idol?

Well the title pretty much sums up my question... Have you ever tried out or American Idol or Canadian Idol... And how far did you get?

You know, I've thought about it each season... just to humor myself. I honestly cannot sing... I might be able to practice ONE song over and over and get decent, but it would be luck. I thought it would be hilarious if I could manage to do just that, and horrify the judges for passing me on.

I auditioned for Canadian Idol last year. Didn't make it far. At all. Or even past the first round. However, I know I can sing. I was nervous, I wasn't prepared. I hadn't even decided what song to sing until I walked into the audition room. And then, as we started walking to the audition rom, I finished my water and tossed it so I wouldn't have ht ebottle in the room with me. So, we go down a flight of stairs. . .nto here, down another flight of stairs. . .not here either. Back up allll those flights up stairs, down a hall. Nope, not here. Oh, by the way guys, you're audition is on the other side of the building. The girl that was leading us to the audition room had noooo idea where she was going. So, we ran here and there and everywhere before we finally got there. And, my throat got dry. And no water to quench the thirst! So, things were a little cracky and I definately didn't do as well as I could have.

Sounds like I'm making excuses, eh? I'm really not. I can actually sing. I just didn't do so hot there

nat,

Pretty sure they won't judge you on your dancing ability It's a singing competition. And, I'm sure it'd be more than luck

I just wanted to throw something else in. There are a lot of people who can sing who go to audition, and don't make it. And, so many times, they think that they're terrible, and give up singing. A lot of times, they just can't put through everybody who can sing. And, keep in mind that they're looking at your overall image and everything. Theyr'e looking for a superstar to make them money. Unfortunately, it's not only about your voice. It's about your look, and your stage presence, and your personality, and all sorts of other factors.

If singing is somehting you love, whether you make it through or not, don't give up They're opinion is only worth so much, because they're looking for so much more than a singer.

I thought that they made you dance too? Oh well...I can sing but there's no way I'm good enough to ever make it big. Besides...I would much prefer having my own home where I can live w/Wyatt and all my other animals than be out on the road 24/7.
