Who hauls manure/bedding away??

So we are moving our horses home at the end of the summer, and who would haul away manure, ALONG with bedding mixed in? We are located in California, does anyone know of any good companies that haul it away cheap? How often would we need it done, for two horses. Monthly? I'm not sure of many farmers around here, but they probably wouldn't want soaked bedding anyway! lol

WE have a local sanitation company haul it away. Some greenhouses will take it, but they generally like cattle manure better.
As for how often, it depends on how much piles up, if it is close to you barn and horses, the weather, ect. During the school year with 75 stalls being cleaned daily, we would fill up one of those semi-dumpsters in about 1 day, they hauled bedding weekly. But know that it's only about 20 horse, we can get away with every month, plus, it's further away from the horses and the barn, so the flies aren't as bad.

Sorry, no help here. We just pile it up with the tractor when the pile gets too spread out and it decomposes. My Mom uses some in her garden and the rest just sort of shrinks away.

i dont know...we muck our stalls into a huge cart pulled by a truck right down the aisle (we also have 42 stalls to clean lol) and then haul it off to where we compost it on the edge of the farm's property (600 acres). probably not feasable for you. try your local dump...our town has a compost pile too, you can try that but they didnt want the amount of manure we had to offer

A local bee keeper use to come and get ours. He set up his own sided trailer for us to load up on.

Contact a few.

Or put an ad in the paper offering free horse manuer if they set up a trailer.

Just call around to places and find the best quote. Sanitaton companies, city dump, county dump, greenhouses, compost farms...
