I have a white / sorrel pony....... mostly white that is, and since I don't do shows, I basically just give up on getting spotless all the time. She does get baths, but the cleanness doesn't last long, so most of the time, she's not a pure white. =/
When I do bathe her, I just use mild dish soap, and water, and that works well for me.

Any bluing shampoo works well but you have to make sure you get it out all the way. Just look for a shampoo that works well on white horses. It should be blue. Shimmering lights the human shampoo works great for manes and tails to bleach the sun damage out. Good luck keeping this one clean

When you say white, do you mean he is a grey that has no black hairs or a cremello (kind of a creamy white with blue eyes)

My greys were always impossible to keep clean, but my cremello practically stays clean by himself. Sure he gets mud on him, but when he dries and when he is grromed it just floats right off and leaves no stain. I think its the texture of the hair. When he has a bath with normal orvus he just shines. My greys were a pain to keep clean, and poop stains were pretty much normal (when stalled). Orvus did work pretty good on that too though.

I use a shampoo called quick silver, it's almost purple, but it gets them very clean...some times you need to wash and rinse twice to get them super clean...

There is a dog shampoo called Crystal White, made by EZ Groom.... I use it on my clysdales' feathers... It works wonders! Don't forget to heat it up though!

You could also try Woolite. I know it sounds wierd, but if you try quik-silver or any of the bluing shampoos and you don't get the results you are looking for try Woolite. Sounds wierd but it works. Just the regular woolite, the in the white bottle.
