Gorgeous...absolutely incredible. I wrote down your feed schedule for our own use. McCue hasn't been feeling well lately and we are needing some nutritional help. Whiskey is an incredible advertisement for rescuing horses...

More to Whiskey's story

I finally did the Jockey Club tattoo research, and got more of Whiskey's story and his real name. His registered name is Wildfang, by Broken Vows and out of Couldn't Be Sold; bred in Ontario, Canada by Auchamore Stud; sold for $4500 at the Keeneland yearling sale in 2004; raced in the 2006 Santa Anita Derby against Brother Derek (who won the race) and came in dead last in a field of six horses; had a race career of seven starts with no wins, but won $23,000; somehow ended up in a kill auction in Phoenix, AZ in 2008, where he was purchased for a couple hundred dollars, only to end up starving and lame in a cattle lot some time later. I wrote to his breeders to get more information, but haven't heard back yet.

Wow! Its just amazing to find out the story behind a horse. Thank goodness you found him. It will be interesting to hear from the breeders.
