I like it when a horse has a shorter mane because they have such big and beautiful necks and you can't see it as well with longer mane.

I love my pulled manes, and cringe when I see people taking scissors to them to make them short (learn to pull)

Then I discovered the magical pulling comb

If you show enough, it never has to be pulled

Honestly though, I would much rather cut the mane then pull because when I band my horses mane it has to be trimmed up to be straight anyway. I only pull if the mane is too thick or an area is thicker then the rest and needs to be thinned some.

After I finish banding my horses mane, I take a comb and the clippers to make sure it is short enough and straight. I then take the clippers and trim under the bands so that they will slightly curl under and lay better on the horses neck.

I love long manes, but I'll have to pull my baby's for english only short on english horses. To me it looks more natural and "western-cowgirlish" to have a long mane
