Being very old-school (read old fashioned, set in my ways, stubbon, etc) , I always use pillows and flannel wraps all around and include bell boots on the front. I feel that I can better control the fit and tension when I wrap myself as opposed to using shipping boots. Shipping boots sure are quicker and easier though and they have made great advancements in their design. Maybe someday soon I will graduate to the "New-school"? I will be interested in reading the responses on this thread.

I don't use anything for any of our horses. But if I was, it would be shipping boots.
