my horse poops mainly in the back of her stall, but then she moves it around when she walks around in her stall....she also poops in the riding arena and tied up at her tack shed, or in the wash rack.....so basically anywhere!

now peeing is another thing. She rarely pees anywhere outside of her stall, but if she absolutely HAS to pee, she does it in front of her tack shed. She also pees in the back of her stall.....

From working at 2 boarding facilities I have lots of experience with this. I could probably tell you which horse is in which stall just by where the poo and pee spots are. Some mill around so you need to strip it each time and others will poo/pee and not step in it so their shavings are always fresh.

slew is a nasty boy, he poops in his food bowl sometimes, but usually in his water bucket! and midnight poops anywhere in his stall, but tonight there was poop in his food bowl.

You know what im going to do?! im just going to get one BIG potty and put one in each of their stalls and potty train them.! and also train them how to flush with their noses. haha wouldn't that be a sight to see!

My mom's mare is really neat. She goes right up against the wall, and pees as close as the wall as she can get.

My mare is alittle messy, not much. Most of the time she will go up against the wall, sometimes in the middle. Normally it's the wall across from the hay.

My gelding was the easiest to clean. He peed in the middle, and her would scrape the shavings back against the wall, and poop on that. So we had to give him more shavings, otherwise he wouldnt be laying on the soft stuff. His stall alwasy looked the messiest, but was the easist to clean.

I hope the new filly keeps her stall nice and clean!

I only have geldings so I can't say who is neater or not but Reebok poops in the same 2 -3 spots in the specific paddock he is in. He is a clean freak!! haha

Tiger poops wherever Reebok has pooped - I am guessing to re-mark territory. But usually in 2-3 specific spots in a paddock.

And Rion poops in specific spots also but he spreads it out throughout the paddock, he is the messiest pooper of them all!

I saw this post and was like *huh??*
THEN I looked at the posting date........... Oh Lord this is old. LOL
But to answer the question and stay on topic.
They all go differently.
Except I have a little pony who is inside a gate type stall.
He somehow manages to poop into the next stall - going in between the bars of the gate. Smart little pony
Keeps his stall clean!

My gelding PEES everywhere... he goes through a lot of water and of course it has to go somewhere... when he was on stall rest for an abscess when I started working at the barn (before I owned him), his stall was always horrible. Even when he's only in overnight, it's horrible.

When we get his lameness issues figured out and I take him back to board him at the barn again, let's just say I'm thrilled that I'm not going to be the one who has to clean his stall!

My mare and yearling filly aren't bad at all. A lot of horses tend to drag the pewp around during the night... but mine are usually pretty quiet in their stalls, so it's not an issue.
