You can start anytime. Better to get them started early to catch any problems that can be worked out. Amiga was 8 months old and we are working to get a toe out problem straightened out. It has worked wonders on the right foot, but the left has been a little slower. We trim every 6-8 weeks and it costs $20. Not bad at all. Have you been working with her picking up her feet? If not, your farrier can work with you on that, and then you can practice what he teaches you for when he comes back next. Beth

My filly is three months and has already has her first trim and is getting ready for her second. Start some round corral work with her so you can catch her and start working with her feet.
