When should i......

HEY folks i was just wondering when should i put shavings back in Promise's and Mavericks stall he is 1 week today!!! and doing fine legs are getting straighter and man what a handfull he is i have them on straw now but would like to get them back onto shavings as it would be so much easier and cheeper(not that i mind the work) but i'm running out of straw and have been layed off for the next month(go back in sept)have tonnes of shavings though. Also given her foaling situation when should i be able to start doing light ridding? what is your opinions on this?
