When do fillies go into heat?

Hi, just curious. Couldn't find this in any books. But, when do fillies go in heat for the first time. My mom wanted to know... And i was kind of curious. Thanks for your answers. Byez

From what i understand they come into heat as a yearling. I hope this helps but maybe someone else with more specifics will come and help you more. Good Luck!

I have 10 month old fillies that have stong heat cycles.

I've never had one cycle earlier than a yearling.

10- 12 months Usually

My mother has told me that some fillies can come into heat as early as 5-6 months and can be bred and conceive that early as well by colts of the same age, we always separate them at weaning.
