What's Your Story? -dad style-

I've been thinking about this thread for awhile now. I thought I would post a thread that allowed people to share their stories or feelings. This (first

) thread is dad style, which means you share something about your dad.

-Feel free to just post a comment and not a story

My story-

Whenever my dad tells me to do something, I HAVE to do it. It's not like he forces me, it's more like I force myself. There's this wall that I can't go through if I don't listen. So, if I listen I get somewhere and vice versa (backwards).

my dad and I are close. He raised me alone.

Now, I'm pretty much the "lady" of the house. I help him with groceries, including making the list and making sure he doesnt get too many sweets, I clean up the house, and cook him dinner. I guess you can say the tables have turned.

I love my daddy. I'm so lucky.

That's great that you guys get along with your dads.

Mine isn't so great. He left when I was 2 and my bro was 1. I don't really know anything about him. He has a drug/ alcohol problem. He's been in jail for it.

In the only home videos I have of him he's wearing an ankle bracelet for house arrest. :/

I don't really know what to think. Apparently he wants to meet me, but my mom isn't so keen on the idea. I wish he could have the guts to send me a letter. I mean jeezus! it's the 21st century. I have a facebook with my real name scrawled across the top. All I want is a "hey! wat's up?" It's not like it takes a rocket scientist.

Aaarg... sorry I'll ty not to ruin your thread...lol

My dad and I have this "If you stay out of my way I'll stay out of your" type relationship. We barely talk or do anything together besides work, wich the whole time he is telling me how worthless, and stupid I am, so yeah we get along so well.

My dad and I don't get along well at all. Our relationship is, at best touchy. We tend to bring out the worst in each other.

That said, he's a good person and I could have been stuck with a much worse dad than what I have. We just don't get along.
