What would you do

So here I have a horse thats great but a little more than I can handle, i got him as a rescue actually bought him from a bad home and spent alot of money fixing him, his feet were terrible he had abscesses and they were chipped almost to the cornet band. So i baby this guy for months spent a ton on vet bills ect. Long story short he recovered without being lame and hung out in a corral. He doesn't get along with other horses so he had to be by himself, i felt bad for him he is a great horse, he has had alot of arena training and knows alot. But he is way more horse than I could ever handle, i know i rode him a few times and he needs alot more than I can give him in that way. He really likes to work. I am in the process of buying another home and decided that the pasture is too small to break up with panel it isn't far for him to be penned nor is it fair for the mares to be crowded so I decided to find him a home where he would be used on a daily bases and not have to set out in a corral. So I find someone who told me that they wanted a horse to use everyday and would start him out slow ( This horse has never been ridden outside an arena) I give them a great deal on him because it is more important for him to have a great home than make money. So I sell him for a fraction of what I put into farrier and vet bills. So they have him for a couple of days and call me to let me know they rode him bareback and he did great. This I know I rode him in a halter and lead rope bareback ect in the arena. this horse will spook for no reason at the most common things. I told them this I also told him that he has issues with his feet, I had to have him sedated everytime the farrier worked on him. He was in severe pain for weeks with the abcesses and I'm sure it wasn't pleasant when we had to flush and dress his feet everyday for weeks, he tolerated it but barely and only for me. So I told them everything about the horse, he's a great boy but had been abused, he will be dead gentle one minute and blow the next. So I told them to have an experienced rider work with him for a few months and once he got used to being out of the arena he would most likely be fine. This horse has no real world experience he was breed and trained in a barn, heck he had never really been outside until I got him. The former owners had a backyard breeding program just a few horses but they lived 24-7 in small dirty pens that are covered. He was trained and ridden in an indoor arena his whole life. Well to get to the end of the novel I thought I had found him a place where he would be loved and ridden and do more than stand around here which wasn't fair to him. He had it good He was fed 2 a day and his pen cleaned brushed ect, but you could tell he wanted to get out and go, I am not that good of rider that I would have felt comfortable taking him out, one of us would have gotten hurt. So this morning I was online checking out Craigs and I see him listed for sale for 1500.00 I took 200.00 the Ad says he is kid gentle family gelding that has been hunted on trailed on and ridden in parades. Now he's been gone 2 days I'm wondering when this all came about, the Ad goes on to say he stands for the farrier and likes baths. Both of which is totally untrue he hates all forms of water and has to be twilighted to be shod. This really burns me I thought I knew these people when they told me that they would take care of him and wanted him for their daughter who is a great rider I felt comfortable in placing him there. I wish I had written up a contract so this wouldn't have happened but hind site is 20/20. Now I have to worry that they might sell him to someone who won't know that all the stuff they say is a lie and someone will get seriously hurt and that the horse will pay. Any Ideas I just mainly wanted to vent, but this burns me I would never lie about an animal to get them a good home I would want the new owners to know exactly what they are getting
