You have done every thing that you can. I agree with Haas, at this point you need to distance yourself. Now that AC is involved, you really have to stay away.

((((((HUGS)))))))) I know how hard this can be, I have had to call on neighbors before and it is never easy whether they are friends or not. Gods, especially when there is a MINI that is involved and starving, how much do they honestly eat? I went through a similar situation with my mare Lizzie, her owner wanted me to pay $800 for a sickly, starved, grade mare, I finally got him to agree to sell her to me for $250 after AC would do nothing and she has had a full belly ever since.

Kudos to you for caring. To many people just turn their heads and do nothing. You, on the other hand, have done your BEST. That is all anyone could ever ask of you.

I actually talked to her today and I convinced her to sell the mini to someone and am happy to report that the pregnant mare isthe only one left on the property. ( too bad shes still there but it's a start right?) Yeah my husband has told me time and time again to not put my hay out there, because of the liability, and the fact that it is soo costly rightnow and they aren't appreciative, I just couldn't help myself, but now I think I am truly done bc I feel so much better with there only being the one horse so maybe she will really get her act together .
