![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i'm serious! Cameron has a high pitch voice at feeding time you think hes going to give himself a heart attack he keeps going on and on whinnying its like hes saying "OGG! OMG! OMG! FEED ME QUICK, FEED ME NOW, FEEEEEEED MEEEE!" But when he sees you otherwise his voice is still quite high in tone but it more "HIYA, HELLO, I LOVE YOU, WILL YOU TALK TO ME?" but Jack has a deep soft 'growly' voice like a teddy bear and at feedimg time his is quite short (a nicker)and its like "WHAT ABOUT ME? WHAT ABOUT ME?" like hes been forgot about and he feels sad. There aren't too many 'talkers' in my yard, they tend to talk more in the field to each other. Cameron talks more than any horse i ever heard in my life, i wish Jack would talk more..... Ponies seem to talk more than horses and any time a new horse arrives at the yard you always here them squeeling like they are saying "LET ME OUTA HERE! and when a horse dies they are all really quiet untill it is removed for burial and then they all talk like they are saying "Goodbye. Rest in peace. we will miss you, see you in Heaven" and that is really sad.... I swear i'm not mad , please answer! [ March 18, 2004, 03:48 AM: Message edited by: babs ] |

| Senior Member | My mare Cherish is a noisy one too. Everytime she sees me she nickers, and she really goes nuts if it's time to eat. Abbie isn't nearly as noisy but her neigh is much higher pitched than Cherish's, probably because she's so much younger. |

Ellie has this really refined nicker - shes got one of those posh English accents like you see in old english movies. Jess has a sort of pychiatrists voice, all soothing and reassuring. Cory - well i guess the best way to describe her voice would be "Britney Spears" - thankfully she doesnt talk much. Lou

![]() | Murray has a high whinny with a sort of gargle thing going on at the end.. i can't even explain it, but take my word for it, it's cute. I geuss it kind of gets deeper toward the end.. but yeah. i've only had Sage for a couple of days, but she already neighs when she sees me. it's high, but at the moment, it doesn't sound very different from anyone else. we're not quite used to each other yet. [ March 18, 2004, 05:14 PM: Message edited by: Eliza ] |

| Senior Member+ | Ok my QH horse gelding is the strangest whinny (if you can call it that) i've ever heard. He sounds more like a goat. It's choppy and he sounds like he's bahhing. Neh eh eh eh eh a. Kinda like that if you say it the way it's written. My mare barely talks at all. I don't even hear her nicker for food. When we went to the show though i heard her whinny. It's a medium pitched whinny, and short and to the point. Oh yeah, My gelding when he nickers, it's a growly thing like somone else said. It's almost like he whispers it, the only way you can tell if he's doing it is if you see his nostrils quiver. He's funny.
