What type of horse do you show?

What type of horse does everyone show? And does anyone show (english) any quarter horses or horses that were bred more for ranch/western types of work?

I have ridden QH my whole life... I think they are bred to do all things... not just western riding. Mine go english or western... We used to play polo on QH's.... I believe that is an English event...

I show mostly reiners now as there are very few english places in my neighborhood... mainly gaited barns. Where I grew up we used one horse for everything... chased cows, played polo, jumped, went surfing... horses love the ocean.

I've seen a lot of QH's in the hunter ring and a few in the jumper ring over the years and many have done quite well. And I don't mean at breed shows, I mean at rated h/j shows. One of my friends rode her QH to west coat high point for childerns and for eq I believe a few years ago. The first horse I showed was QH and I lease another QH who won tons of hunters classes.

As for me I don't show much right now but I used to show Romeo, my belgian warmblood, in jumpers, eq and medals. And then I also showed Wes in hunters, eq and medals as well and he was a shire X trakaner.

My mare is QH, bred for pleasure and western events although I show her english on occasion if I want an all around or something. I show at AQHA shows around the west coast, mostly in california, oregon, nevada and arizona. There are some in Utah, but I don't like those shows.
