What to take to a stay away show??

OK, I'm off to the CHAPS championships tomorrow and I need to know stuff that I may forget which will be essential?? I'm away till sunday and have all his feed and bedding sorted but what are those things that you would only know to take because you've learnt the hard way??

a spare headcollar
a roll of electric tape and fence posts so you can make him a mini paddock next to the horsebox,
a good WATERPROOF tent!
plenty of towels (for you and him)

Small fan/heater for your float, much easier to sleep if you are cool.
Microwave for cooking/reheating your dinner.
Portable tele.
Portable fridge.
laptop for entertainment
camera
video camera
Blankies and pillow. Mattress and sheets. (or swag)
plates and cutlery.
washing up bowl, liquid, scrubber and t towel.
Pj's and personal washing stuff.
Clothing for next day
shovel for float (stinky horse poo isn't good smell for sleeping)
hose for float (to wash out stinky horse poo smell)
Good dog for protection, (travelling, personal and float/gear)
dog food for above
lead, chain, coat and bed for above

This is my list so far for this weekend.

Don't forget meds.

Bute and Banamine are essential IMO. And tranquilizers aren't a bad thing on hand. Plus anything else your horse might need. Basically a nice first aid/med box. Just incase

The posts above have some great advice. I would also do a checklist. I do it for every show, overnight or not. It helps me remember everything without stressing myself out. Without my checklists, I don't know how I'd get out the door!

dont need electrical hook up for a mini paddock if they're used to elcetric fence already. We never had any escapees in over ten years of showing at weekend shows - even when left in them overnight.

It's not the electrical hook-up that limits the electric fence, it's just not allowed so he will be stable bound sadly!
