What to look for in a cart?

I'm interested in getting into driving with my Arab/Draft mare Jezebelle. It just looks like so much fun--we might do some driving shows but mainly I'd just like to be able to go for a spin around the neighborhood, maybe do parades...

anyway, when buying a cart what do I need to look for? I'm clueless as to where to even begin. I'm just thinking something along the lines of a Jerald cart except cheaper two wheels, room for two people...nothin fancy.

thanks!

American makes a great training cart. Easy in/out.
American Cart & Harness offers all sizes of dog and horse carts, leather, and nylon harness. We have two, one with motorcycle wheels for training and recreation, and one with standard wheels for shows. Driving is just FUN! And Soooo good for yer Horse.

I can't wait to be able to afford a cart for my mini, I would love a mini meadowbrook for him, he would look sharp driving it....actually since he's 47 inches, he's not really a mini, but a little horse, or pony....I would love to show him at the Maryland Pony Association shows in hand, and driven, that would be so much fun....he's only 3 so I got lot's of time to train him...Cathy

That's where I got my horse sized meadowbrook, back in the early 90's, they were only 850 back then, wow, the price has gone up! I am only about 2 hours south of them....great tack shop too.... Cathy
