personally I like 50....60 feels way too big to me. 50 gives me room to work but I never get really, really far away from my horse.

I voted for other because I always thought the " mark was used as inches.
I do have a 60' round pen.

I don't have one "yet" But I will get a 60 foot round pen, it's easier on the horse's legs and joints!

I want one eventually too, so this is a good thread for me to watch. I love the round pens with wooden sides, so the horses cannot see out.

I want one at least 60, I would even build one at 70.

I want to be able to ride inside mine comfortably.

I prefer 50'. To me it's just right. 60'...is great but...my big butt gets toooo tired!!! Just remember...the bigger the pen...the more running YOU do when training.

I used Red River Panels out of Texas. They were more in my budget than most places. I think my 50' cost about $900 when shipping, taxes etc...were added in.

I have used my 70 foot round pen now for twenty three years and I love it. Have started several colts in it and granted, at first it may be too big, but in no time at all you are glad you have that extra room.

And, so what if you have to do more running - ever hear of a "work out"!

Also, you don't want to have solid sides. You need to work on keeping your horse's attention on you. The more distractions, the better. You don't want to get to the point of being ready to take your horse out of the round pen and THEN they begin to notice everything that's going on around them instead of paying attention to you and your requests!
