What should I do? (If anything...)

Everyday, I drive by a house that is next to the highway. They have approx 10-12 horses, split up between several different corral type enclosures..none with shelter. All footing in each enclosure is mud..no grass anywhere.

These horses are starving...as I drive by at 60 MPH, I can see ribs, backbones, and hip bones. I think I even can see rain rotting coats, or atleast dull lifeless coats at best.

I want to stop. I want to send them a ton of hay anonymously, I want to call animal control..I want to knock on the door and kick someone's ***.

What should I do?? (With the number of horses there that I can see as I drive by, I am guessing there is a stallion in there that they are breeding to their own mares. )

Sigh. Is this none of my business?

If you can see that an animal is starving it becomes your business. I would at least call animal control and request that your phone call be anonymous to the farm owner.

I second this. The animals are totally dependent, on someone to take care of them, or someone to get them help.
An anonymous phonce call could improve their care, or even save their lives.

Bottom line do not step on the property or feed the horses anything... that is asking for a lawsuit. No need to post photos here. If you can see ribs that is reason enough to call. If you step foot on the property or feed the horses anything they could say you caused the problem if one dies.

Call AC and let them deal with it. Unfortunately there are many horses like this today.

Please report horse abuse

These horses are suffering, hunger is physically and emotionally painful. Please report this to local law enforcement, animal control, or a rescue agency. I am posting two links to equine rescue centers in Oregon:
http://www.equineoutreach.com/
contact person at equine outreach, Joan Steelhammer at 1-866-946-7731
all calls kept confidential

http://www.whisperingwindsequinerescue.com/

Please call anyone that can help these horses, they are helpless themselves and need people to help them.
Thanks so much.
