Post What should i breed her too?

Im not sure yet BUT if we get Honey I want to look into breeding her in 2005. I have 2 ?'s about it though.

1) She will be 14 almost 15 then...Is it still ok? I dont think she has foaled b4 but i will look into it cuz im not postitive

2) she is a Quarab. What would you breed her too?
I want to do Dressage and maybe some jumping
but i dont care for the dished faces in Arabs(*sorry*)

ok..now ill tell you my reasoning for wanting to breed.

I would like something taller and that could excel in dressage a little bit more. She will be good in dressage but i dont think she will be able to go past 1st level...i am at training level4/1st level 1 right now but im not showing that high yet.

like i said im not sure that we would breed her but i basically just wanted to kno what u guys would breed her to.

Thanks.

I know you're adopting her. I've never seen an adoption/rescue agency that allows their mares to be bred, ever. If they are, they come and take the horse from you.

Personally, if she's that old and you can't be for sure that she's foaled succesfully before, I wouldn't.

yea..i still am going to check into everything but I just wanted to kno what everyone would breed her to if she can be bred. My parents may not even agree to breeding any horse. I dont kno yet.

The only way I would breed her is if one my parents said it was ok(obviously) and 2 if i checked into everything and talked to me vet.

Well it depends on what type of horse you want, what you want to do with the horse, etc

If you are serious about it, when the time comes, have your vet perform a uterine exam, he will be able to tell you what shape her uteris is in, hopefully you will have an *A* uterus, well, not you, Honey..LOL Also, some adoption facilities WILL allow you to breed the mare, after she is with you a certain amount of time. Check into it though. After reading your reasons for wnating to breed her, which are all good valid reasons, do your research and go from there.
In answer to your question, I am not a dressage person, but I think that a quarab crossed with a nice Warmblood would be stunning.. wink

Is the mare more qh or arab in build? You could breed her to a warmblood (really not sure that would make a good combo though.) Let's see, my first reasonable choice would probably be a tb. Ummm...yeah, that's all I can think of. Keep in mind that's all based on never having seen the mare before.
