What pad for an Aussie saddle?

I might be getting an Australian saddle soon, and I was wondering what kind of pad is best to use. Would a plain Western pad be OK, or should I get a thinner blanket? Also, I've seen special Australian saddle pads, but do I have to use those?

A dressage pad may fit under it

Thanks! Since a western saddle blanket is thin like a dressage pad, do you think that that would work too?
