Is the horse gaited? Some Fox Trotters tend to drag or slide their back feet as they gait. Not usually to this extreme so maybe another adjustment by the cyro is in order. Having your vet check for hip problems would help too.

It's both leg's. I JUST had my vet out and he said that she doesn't look lame.

Perhaps the original problem was caused by bones/joints being out of whack, which the chiro can fix, but the muscles & tendons would have also changed to compensate, especially if it's a long term prob, so they will just pull the joints back out if they're not worked on too.

I'd be interested to see the bottom of her feet, if you'd care to send pics of them. Curious to know what's going on there. Hoof imbalance is also a possible cause, and it could be that she's just wearing away some of the excess.

I don't think shoes, heavy or otherwise are a solution, and could potentially do more harm. I personally wouldn't be happy to ride this horse until you've gotten to the bottom of it.

Were should I start then? I am just so tired of all of this. I just want her to be healthy and happy

my baby drags his back hinds TERRIBLY. the tips of his hooves looked almost like that, but WORSE. it took the farrier almost 9 months to regrow the tips of his hind hooves back. suggestion #1. Put hind shoes on to help grow the tip of the hoof back out.
#2 . keep hind shoes on.
#3. ask ur farrier of any other suggestions. mine almost wanted to put weighted tips on this hind feet, this way he thinks there is something on there, and he picks his feet up when he moves. some dressage horses have them on their shoes to help pick their feet up.

It looks like toe wear from dragging to me... Can be caused from multiple things from lazyness to discomfort. My boy had wear on his hind feet due to hock arthritis and the vet recommended having the vet shape the fronts so it would be easier for him as well as treatment for his arthritis (which he is getting). My horses wear was not nearly that bad though, it was just a simple flat edge for my boy that wasn't deep. Looks like someone took a chunk out of your horses hooves...

I'd have your vet come out and examine him for discomfort and show him his hooves

My gelding did this for years but it was when we were about a week or so from the farrier comming out. I went through a number of farriers when we moved & rolling back the toes helped but was really a band aid solution.
Since changing farriers in April he has not had the dragging issues at all.

(plus in all honesty hes a little lazy lol)

Yup could be laziness, like people, some horses do that. My QH gelding does it a lot in the summer when I ride him and he gets adjusted along with regular trimming and shoeing and it has never made big a difference. Though it is always good to look into things like this just in case.

Here are her hoof pic's. She is due for her trim in about two weeks.

There's a very slight dip in the ground here:

Left front( Theres still dirt on the right side of her frog)

Back left ( I couldn't really get good pics of this one because she lift's her leg really high )

Back right

Right front( I don't know why I only got one pic)

Side view of right front ( weird angle )

Left front ( again I suck at taking hoof pictures)

Also, my chiro said that he has never seen this on a horse. A trainer said that she has never seen this also. Trix has like a dip thingy on ther rump.
