What is he worth?

Sadly enough, the time may have come to sell my cutting horse. What is bad is that we are leading the Area right now (GA, SC, and NC) and I am looking at several championships and reserve championships at different affiliates. He is a 6 year old gelding, by Peppys Boy 895 and has earned $16,500 so far in his career, the last two years being weekend shows. So what do you think is his worth?
This computer is so slow I was going to put some pics up of him in action. If you are interested search my posts for cutting pics.

It's very hard to give a price estimate from a different area.. the markets will vary greatly from place to place. If you can post some pictures we can tell you what we think said horse would go for in OUR area. Hope we can help!

Market him to the right area and the possibilities are endless. A good sound cow horse - no matter what he excells in can go for a lot if he can pack a youth or ammy around. I would need pictures to really evaluate him, but for a good cow horse gosh.. I would say anywhere from 20-30K if he has a lot left in the tank, sound, healthy, and is low maintence.

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! So just send him to me, heck I'll come pick him up and give him a good home

I am sorry that you are in this spot Hurts like heck to give up something you love along with the sport.

But, as to price. He's a good age, already winning in the ammy spot with NCHA earnings, healthy and color to boot. With all that, around here (even with the market in the tank, a horse that is currently earning NCHA and sound makes a BIG difference) he would start at $25,000 and just go up.

Area really makes no difference for the basic pricing this type of horse (except in CA you would almost always double or triple the price). The market is not regional, but disclipine specific for this quality of a horse.

But, I really think you need to let me come get him.

DB, make sure you bring that check when you come. My boyfriend is adamant that I am NOT selling him and he is not letting me, and I sure don't want to!! He said he will sit outside the barn to make sure he doesn't go. I'm not jumping right now, but if that right price comes up and I can't refuse it, ........

Yes, he is sound, and low maintenance.

But here are the pics for those who requested.

In this area good cattle horses go high. He'd easily be worth $20 - 30 K depending on the market you're in.
