What is a Wonder Bit?

I did a search first to see if anyone has already asked this, but I didn't come up with anything.

What is a Wonder Bit and is it better than a 'normal' bit?

A wonder bit has shanks where you can put your reins at different locations to increase or decrease the pressure. You can take a look at some wonder bits at: www.angelfire.com/trek/landrfarms . They are good bits; however, just like anything else, everyone has their own opinions and those opinions usually come from what they have had success with in the past.

It's a gag bit that Sharon Camarillo calls "No Wonder they don't stop" bits.

Have you missed an opportunity to send people to your business in disguise of a reply?

I have had success with them on barrel horses I find most horses quite like it. I posted a pic of one in Amber.ali's bit thread. They are not a true gag, but they do have some gag action.

We got one, it was recommened to us, but none of our hoses liked it, the only one we rode in it was the x racing standardbred that we were having trouble finding a bit for, but he would hold his head funny and open his mouth. She would try and barrel race and pole bend but it just did not give the control that she needed, it seemend to pull his mouth or something, then he wouod swing his butt out funny. So we do not use it any more. If you want ours I can send it to you and you can try it, who knows your horses might like it.

Here is a pic of what he would do with it.

Thank you very much for the offer, but I think I will see how the snaffle keeps going. After the lady adjusted it, it worked much better.

I like curb bits for trail riding so I can do it with one hand. Can you neck rein successfully in a snaffle? The horse appears to have a stuborn streak. (better than a bolting streak!)

The horse was in a curb bit prior to this owner. She said he tossed his head a lot so they moved him to a snaffle. She said he is much better about the tossing now.

I find bit selection to be EXTREMELY difficult.
