I really dont know, I actually dont know much of anything about her really, other than what the lady did with her before I got her, but she only had her for 7 months, and all she knew from the previous owner was that she may be bred and that they didn't take care of her, which is why she was taken from them. So I'm clueless.

I would definately get a yes or no. She needs to be put on correct diet for herself and what you'll do with her as far as riding etc. Or does she need extra vities and extra feed for herself and foal. Def find out before anything. Good luck keep us posted.

Well shes not ridden, she's a miniature and and older one at that, so Shes just a pasture pony. I just started her on the same joint supplements that I keep my other horses on, and then the alfalfa pellets since she isn't getting much of her grass down. as far as the mare and foal pellets go, I was giving her sweet feed before that, but even if i stop feeding her the mare and foal then I'll start her on a pellet feed for older horses.

but if she isn't preg... will it be a problem that shes on the mare and foal?

LOL not really... at her age... keeping her fed as I am guessing she has teeth issues is a good thing. Anything in it she does not use will be peed out. Figure out what she likes to eat and can eat and she will be happy.

I was going to add and I forgot... my friend has a mini mare with teeth problems and she feeds hers pelleted rabbit food. It's a lot smaller than the horse pellets and she can eat it easier.

My thinking when you have an aged horse... anything you can do to make the horse healthier and happier why not... Rabbit pellets are a great idea. To me saying sweet feed is bad is like telling a 90 year old grandma not to eat ice cream and drink coffee cause it is bad for her... at her age... make her happy!!!

Have her checked for Cushings disease. That is what I suspect is might be going on with her.

Oh my goodness, the third photo of her in the fly mask, she is SO posing! What a cutie! Whether or not she's pregnant (I know NOTHING about this subject) she's adorable, way to go on getting her healthier!
