Get two of these -

clip the trigger snaps onto the rings and you've got a martingale! Voila!

OMG I'm laughing my rear end off now... WOOHOO! I can make my gadget into a new gadget!

LOL I'm not at a shortage for any gadgets... including martingales... I just wondered what this one was... it was still in the bag. What's a neck stretcher? I think I have one of those that is a LONG piece of black elastic cording with snaps on the end... it goes over the poll, through the bit, and between the legs to snap to the girth. This thing I have here is about the length of my arm from shoulder to fingertip total.

Yeah I think it may be too short to be a neck stretcher.

I own that thing, too, and this is about the third or maybe even a forth of that length... if it were attached to the bit on a 16 ish hand horse, I imagine the horse's nose would be almost to it's chest?

Maybe some sort of chambon? That's all I think of when I hear that it looks like it should attach to the bit. Probably too short though...
